Chef’s Assistant:
• Assists the Chef in making a variety of baked goods, from breads to layer cakes.
• Assists the Chef in preparing various meals.
• Measures and mix ingredients to form dough or batter, following recipes EXACTLY!
• Rolls, cuts, and shapes dough to form rolls, pie crusts, tarts, cookies, and related products.
• Cuts, peels, and prepares fruit for pie fillings.
• Places dough in pans, molds, or on sheets and bakes in oven.
• Controls mixing processes and oven controls
• Observes products while cooking and adjust controls.
• Mixes icings and other toppings and decorates cakes, pastries, and other baked goods.
• Uses a variety of kitchen tools, including commercial electric mixers, pans, rolling pins, and cutting tools.
• Handles and moves ingredients, tools, and cooking pans according to safety standards
• Restocks items in kitchen and in pastry case as needed.
• Receives inventory according to procedures outlined in the employee handbook and performs regular inventory functions.
• Records food temperatures in the cooler, refrigerators, pastry cases and ovens as needed throughout the day.
• Performs regular cleaning including but not limited to:
o Washing dishes, mopping floors, cleaning the pastry case, keep kitchen sta-tions clean throughout the day etc.
• Attends shifts, training sessions, staff meetings and other meetings as scheduled and ON TIME!
• And other duties and projects as assigned
Barista:
A professional who is highly skilled in coffee preparation, with a comprehensive under-standing of coffee, coffee blends, espresso quality, coffee varieties, espresso equipment, maintenance, latte art, etc.
Brief Job Description:
Provides excellent customer service – the kind that customers talk about long after they have left the café
Staffs the front and back counters
Produces quality beverages for customers, such as lattes, mochas, cappuccinos and other espresso-based drinks, blended drinks, and teas.
Operates the cash register
Performs regular cleaning duties, including, but not limited to
Cleaning the espresso machine, mopping floors, bussing tables, washing dishes as needed and maintaining bathroom cleanliness.
Publicizes Café Boheme’s regular events, special menu items, and pastry offerings.
Attends shifts, training sessions, staff meetings and other meetings as scheduled and ON TIME!
And other duties and projects as assigned
All positions at Café Boheme will be required to:
• Listen, communicate, and follow directions effectively
• Lift 50 lbs on a regular basis
• Wear appropriate attire as specified in the employee handbook
• Interact with customers, fellow employees, and owners with courtesy and respect
• Must be able to read and spell at a high school level and perform basic mathematics including adding, subtracting, multiplication, and division.
• Must be able to operate a computer efficiently and accurately
• Must be able to answer the phone and take messages according to procedures outlined in the employee handbook
